Dichotomies and Becauses of things

In this life there are lots of dichotomies, the whys, whats and hows of things we perceive, think and said. There are lots of because in every life's journey. It is a given fact in life that we always have dichotomies in order to make a better judgment of things, ideas, concept, theories and innovations we encounter everyday in this transient world of man. There is this cool site that I want to share with that tries to make a difference in the blogosphere. The author of this blog site allows every visitor to participate in a discussion type where he posted two opposing questions, like which is better browser Firefox or Internet Explorer? or Destiny is already written vs. I write my own destiny and many other dichotomies in life. I found it quite interesting and fun as postees are giving their own view and ideas about anything that they found interesting and try to reason out why they choose such views, concept or even technological gadgetry. It is just too interesting to post what you think is better. If you are interested and like to discuss things out try this blog site Just Tell Me Why. Just tell me why is a new web service 2.0. It is a hybrid between a social bookmarker, a blog and a forum. It is based on dichotomies, debates: subjects with a clear division of opinions. Each user states their opinion on the two choices. A survey with arguments. Dichotomies are resolved by the majority. Have fun. I have just posted my own reasons why?

Blogging made easy and fun with Zemanta

Blog better using ZemantaImage by chucks via Flickr

Adding pictures, links, tags and related articles regarding what I am posting in my blog gives me hard time since I have to scour the entire web to find an appropriate picture to use as part of my post. And giving you, my readers more options aside from my post by suggesting more related articles is hard to do for it will take me an hour or two to find other blogs and articles to link with. Not anymore now while doing some stumbling I have found a cool tool that can be integrated to my browser to find pics and related articles to post with ease. This tool is called Zemanta, and I am glad to share this with you and give some review of this cool tool. Here is some of what this tool can do: Zemanta when I use this tool it suggest pictures that is related to my post and I can choose from an array of pictures this tool suggest for me to integrate in my post. Aside from suggesting pictures, it also suggest tags and more than that it also gives suggestion of related articles that I can integrate in my post to give my readers more options to read and follow.
This tool can be integrated to your Wordpress platform (not the free one though), Blogger, Typepad, LiveJournal and Movable Type. The only downside with Zemanta is that it is only supported in Firefox and Flock browsers, if you are using IE it is in private testing and you have to e-mail the administration for you to integrate it in IE. Since I am using Firefox browser it is not a problem for me. You can download this tool here

Get Your Blog Google-Ranked In 30 Days or Less

Whether starting out with a new domain name, or a domain that’s been around for a decade, you can rank your blog on Google if you just do what Google wants you to do. So here are 25/50 tips to get your blog ranked by the world’s biggest SE. I've digg this article and I find it very informative and useful to new and old bloggers alike. I like tip 37 that says " Don't use duplicate content. The only duplicate content that appears in your blog posts are quotes, and they should be identified with quotation marks." Indeed if you are blogging try not to make a duplicate content as this will not be crawled by spiders instead try to do trackback links and compose your own idea around the trackback content and let it blend with the trackback. In so doing you are making a good content with additional information via the links you made.

SocialSpark: A new way to earn from blogging

Social Network sites are new powerful tools in online marketing between publishers and advertisers alike as this allows more exposure and interaction to both. Every day a new Social network sites are being build to create more opportunity for marketing to both publishers and advertisers. One of the recently social marketing site that is open for business is SocialSpark. SocialSpark is a social marketing site that offers connectivity to bloggers and advertisers alike. In SocialSpark you interact online with advertisers and fellow bloggers. It is a combination of Social networking and marketing strategy. In SocialSpark you have the option of creating a circle of friends from fellow bloggers and advertiser. Doing business and pleasure at the same time is incorporated in this new social media, that's why I joined SocialSpark because of its great innovative idea of connecting bloggers and advertisers in one internet platform for socialization and business.
The advantages of SocialSpark is that it is:

100% Audit-able In-Post Disclosure

Your readers trust you. SocialSpark is committed to keeping it that way. That's why they insist on a strict policy of full in-post disclosure for all sponsored posts. By receiving payment for blogging about a certain topic, even if you would have written about that topic anyway, you run the risk of giving the impression of a conflict of interest. By showing your audience, in a very visible and proactive manner, that you are being paid for that content, you will maintain the trust of your readers and avoid any appearance of impropriety.

Each sponsored post opportunity within the SocialSpark marketplace provides the blogger a small snippet of code for a Disclosure Badge. The Disclosure Badge must be placed at the end of each post without exception. This badge protects both you and the advertiser, providing an audit-able disclosure trail that exceeds compliance standards based on FTC and WOMMA guidelines.

100% Transparency

Every participant in SocialSpark is made viewable to the public. The public can also see which bloggers are working with which advertisers on which opportunities. This is designed to keep the community honest and open about the transactions that occur. If you don't want someone to know you are doing business with a particular advertiser or blogger, chances are you should reconsider.

100% Real Opinions

Subject to the specific agreement you form with an advertiser, you are free to write or say whatever you want. SocialSpark itself has no restrictions on how you express your genuine thoughts on an advertiser's product or service. It's up to you to pick the Opportunities that best suit you and your blog. If it doesn't feel right, if you don't own the product, or if you can't be honest we ask you to pass on the Opportunity. Dishonest or completely off-topic posts can ultimately hurt your blog's credibility. We strongly encourage you to only take opportunities that relate to you and to alert us if an advertiser ever suggests that you be dishonest.

100% Search Engine Friendly

Each sponsored link in SocialSpark automatically carries the "no-follow" attribute so as not to affect search engine rankings. This is designed to protect bloggers and advertisers from search engine penalties based on paid linking. Bloggers and Advertisers participating in the marketplace agree not to circumvent this practice and manually remove the "no-follow" attribute.

This how they portray their ethical standard in doing business online and I would say it is an advantage to both bloggers and advertisers. And one more thing is that you as a blogger can also be one of the advertiser. You can get paid at the same time attract more traffic to your blog by advertising it in their network.

The rising tide of Twitter

Stephen Baker of BusinessWeek posted this article "Why Twitter Matters". Can the fledgling microblogging service become a social media powerhouse to rival giants like Facebook—or will it be gobbled up?
He further said that, the key question today isn't what's dumb on Twitter, but instead how a service with bite-size messages topping out at 140 characters can be smart, useful, maybe even necessary. Here's why I'm looking. In the last few months, the traffic on Twitter has exploded, growing far beyond its circles of bleeding-edge tech enthusiasts and hard-core social networkers.
This new technology has soar to popularity that it is now being utilized by anyone in internet from bloggers, publishers and advertisers alike to communicate their thoughts and ideas and even promote a brand or blogs to increase traffic. I myself uses Twitter to inform and promote my own blog and what I am doing day in and day out.

Bloggers Unite for Human Rights

In my home country the beloved Philippines there have been a lot of human rights violation in the past decades especially during the Marcos regime. During those martial law times human rights violation is very obvious and go unpunished due to cover-up and white washing of the government officials then, but now human rights violation in my country has taken a different face it is not that obvious but more silent and concealed in the guise of globalization and the need to cope up with the new trade agreements endorsed by the first world or the rich country, like America. There was a recent events that happens and this is about the farmers of Bukidnon who for two years I think fought for their right to their land who was been taken from them without due process by the big company San Miguel Corporation. On the long arduous court battle finally in the year 2007 they won the case and the land they fought through their own effort and unity they finally have it. I post this in unity with the call of Bloggers Unite for Human Rights in commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United nations. There are lots of human rights violation happening today that cry out for justice and we need to use all the available resources to let the world know that we should respect and honor the basic rights of people to create a habitable world.
And here is the latest human rights abuses that is happening now in Darfur.

Darfur Crisis: Background

The conflict in Darfur, Sudan, has led to some of the worst human rights abuses imaginable, including systematic and widespread murder, rape, abduction and displacement. Hundreds of thousands of civilians have been killed by both deliberate and indiscriminate attacks, and over 2.5 million civilians have been displaced. Though violence persists, the UN Security Council has mandated what may be an effective peacekeeping operation to guarantee security for the people of Darfur. To all who read this post there is something that you can do about this conflict in Darfur. Blog about the recent Darfur crisis, lobby your lawmakers to persuade the government of Darfur to take actions regarding the crisis or help the people of Darfur especially the displaced and the innocent civilian caught in the crisis by sending donation or any help to alleviate their plight. Last but not the least if you are a believer in God pray for justice and peace in Darfur. Together we can make a difference.

Creative Ideas for Compelling Content

While browsing the net I come across this interesting article that I find worth sharing here. We all know that more often than not we bloggers run out of ideas on what to post in our blog but I do like the idea that this article is trying to convey for bloggers like me. Here is some few lines that I quote from it:
One of the biggest hurdles that ALL new ( and experienced) bloggers face, is the constant and continuous chase to create good and compelling content. In the big buck battles you see fought over the hearts and minds of your readers, it's often the blogs that have the MOST continuously updated content that get the most views, NOT those that have the best ideas, or freshest thoughts. In many ways, this is a sad thing...but in a very different senses, it does provide a wonderful window of opportunity to those willing to work harder and smarter than anyone else.

Publicizing your blog offline

Just because your blog is online doesn't mean your publicity effort have to be restricted to the cyberspace. There are many ways in getting your blog noticed away from cyberspace and this is called offline advertising. Some choices for a real-world publicity includes adding your blog's URL in your business cards if you manage to have one, letterhead and resume. Try to be creative, paste your blog's URL even in your car or in your self-made T-shirt. Isn't it worth trying as this way is challenging and taps your creativity and artistic side?

Figuring out how to boost my blog's presence.

Any blogger I think would want to have their blog exposed more in the blogosphere that we all do our best time and effort to try all the schemes in gaining more traffic and the undying PR from the Big "G". And I am not an exception to this as of this posting I am trying to figure out how to increase my traffic and rankings from Alexa and the Big "G". My Alexa rankings is still a million far behind and a 0 PR from the Big "G". Now, I would try this strategy; doing some link love from my fellow bloggers and net peers. Would you like to link with my blog which frankly I tell you has a PR0 from the Big "G" and a million Alexa rankings. Some blog post that I read tries to state that linking is one of the way to increase rankings and blog exposure, so I am trying out this strategy. So if you are interested to link with this blog just send me an e-mail at bukayd@yahoo.com stating that you are interested in linking with this blog together with your url and blog description and I would be glad to have you listed in my favorite links. But you must reciprocate it by copying this blog's URL: http://salivio.blogspot.com and this description: Blogs and Blogging and put it on your site. Deal?
