Image via WikipediaIt is nice to know that my readers posted comments on some of my post. It gladdens the heart and lift your spirit to continue posting. Indeed the power of comments do helps me as a blogger as it bolster my resolution to continue despite the temptation to procrastinate due to what others called a mental blackout where it is hard to conceive ideas to post. Comments do help a lot as it gives me as a blogger ideas and even make that comment part of my blog post. Commenting do create opportunities for blogger like me to conceive ideas and thoughts that becomes a blog post while on the other hand commenting on other blogs helps me as a blogger to get my blog the exposure it needs and attract readers and subscribers. I am still in the stage infancy in the world of blogging but as of now I am starting to grasp some ideas and concept to help me mature in this sphere of the world wide web. Comments received do help me a lot in creating more post, it is through the help of some few comments from those interested readers that makes my blog up and running while commenting on other blogs gets my blog the traffic and exposure it needs to gain followers. So to you my readers and visitors keep on posting your comment here as I would gladly appreciate them it helps me constructively.

Specifically, linkbait is used to attract visitors to your website or blog whether through interest, anger or knowledge seeking. Linkbait is content that is specially written to either educate, entertain or inflame your readership and prospective readers. These articles create buzz, and the buzz spreads virally from site to site in the form of links and comments that others make about what is written on your site. Linkbait comes in two forms: specific, informative and useful content in a niche market written by an authority or content that will incite discussion and arguments on a given subject. There are different types of how you want to make a linkbait, let's go through some of them:
Informational. Provide any information that can educate and help your readers and can be use as reference. Problogger often provide these types of articles.
News. Keeping up with breaking news on what's happening on the world wide web and the blogosphere is often followed by readers who want to always kept themselves inform of the latest events and trends.
Humor.. Funny stories, bizarre pictures and videos, cartoons and jokes are often helpful as people wants to have some chuckles and laughs to relieve stress and boredom.
Controversy.Writing something unpopular often gets and keeps readers who want to air their views on what you have posted. Rants and raves on something in a negative fashion often attracts attention as people often loves to dispute and discuss things unpopular.
Resource.Creating a specific list on a particular niche is an invaluable resource for people in that particular subject. It helps create a credibility for you and your blog if you provide some resource list on your post and will become a reference materials to readers.

Advantages of using Firefox ScribeFire Extension tool for blogging

ScribeFire as I mentioned in the previous post is a very handy extension tool available only in Firefox user. The advantages of using this extension tool in Firefox is;
It enables you to automatically create a tag in technorati for your post.
You can automatically bookmark your post at del.icio.us using the same tags as your technorati tags.
Automatically enable pings using Ping-O-Matic.
Enables you to automatically publish your content on your blog as this extension tool is compatible with Wordpress and Blogger platforms but there is some issues with regards to Movable Type blogging platform.
I have been using this extension in Firefox since I am a Firefox user.
By using this extension tool blogging is more fun and easy as you don't need to log-in to your individual blogging account in your Wordpress or Blogger.

Blogging Essentials: Three things that can gain traffic and readership

Blogging started as a random thoughts of a few internet users that considers it an online diaries. But not anymore today. Blogging becomes a phenomenon for the reason that it gives you a voice to be heard. You can post your thoughts on any topics and instantly you can get a worldwide audience. Blogging has gone beyond that of a simple journal into an interactive social media where audience can leave a comment whether they agree or disagree to your post. And search engines look at comments on your blog as a fresh content, thereby getting your blog indexed.
However to make your blog works three things you must keep in mind.
1. Make your readers your priority. You want lots of people to read your blog,then do post interesting content as much as possible that is related to your blog and what the readers wants to know about that may be of help to them. Do make your blog content reach a wider audience, meaning make your blog understandable even by people in the lowest level of education.
2.Choose a good design for your blog. There are lots of blog layouts in the net to choose from but do not overdo it. Content is King, but graphics and design is the Queen meaning that good quality content is your priority but your choice of design can complement your content and maximize its readability.
3. Post frequency. Post fresh content at least three times a week as a minimum. The point is to let not your blog be idle for a longer period of time, especially if you are a blogprenuer and monetizing your blog. With this frequency of posting your blog will be search engine friendly as there is always a flow of fresh content and search engines do love freshly updated blog. Added to that people want as much information as they can get so this minimum frequency of posting gives your audience a sense of anticipation for your next post.

In summary, the three essentials of blogging are prioritizing your readers while making your blog appealing with good design and frequently updated content in an easy to understand format.

Blog Readability Test

While scouring the world wide web I have come across this nice and cool tools that may be of help to bloggers and readers alike. Blogging is a challenge in a way that you have to post good and quality content for your readers. Readers comes in different level of education so when blogging especially when you are seeking a wider readership to get enough traffic to your blog therefore, at what level of education is required to understand your blog? This blog needs this level of education to understand what I posted here.
It means my blog can be understood by any person with a high school level of education and the net has lots of people in this level of education. I am satisfied by the result that at least I can convey my ideas to people in this level and higher quite understandably.

Analyzing your blog traffic statistics can be an invaluable tool for a number of reasons. But before you can make full use of this tool, you need to understand how to interpret the data.
Most blog hosting companies will provide you with basic blog traffic information that you then have to interpret and make pertinent use of. However, the data you receive from your host company can be overwhelming if you don't understand how to apply it to your particular business and blog site. Let's start by examining the most basic data – the average visitors to your site.
These figure is the precise measure of your blog's activity. It is therefore precise that the more traffic you see recorded, the better your blog is faring,but this is not the only parameter that you must consider. You must also look at the behavior of your visitors once they land on your blog site to gauge the effectiveness of your site.
The aim is to use the blog traffic statistics to figure out how well or how poorly your site is working for your visitors. One way to determine this is to find out how long on average your visitors spend on your site.


Let me take as an example this blog. As you can see in the graphics, my blog has 359 visits over all plus 15 before I sign-up with Sitemeter and with an average visits of 11 per day that's quite comfortable as of now since this is a new blog it means that I have made a good step in promoting my blog to the world. The over all page view is 532 and a 12 page view per day average that's quite good for now. By this stats, I could say that this blog has a good starting with regards to how I advertise and promote it. Based on this stats I can now have an idea how to proceed to increase more traffic to my blog.

Why the difference between the visits and the page view?
When you are browsing a site, every time you follow a link to a new web page, it is treated as a single page view. Site Meter defines a visit as a series of page views by one person with no more than 30 minutes in between page views. If you click on a link to another site, and then come back to your site within 30 minutes, you are still on the same visit and Site Meter won't increment the counter. But Site Meter will increment the number of page views recorded for your current visit. With a page view average of 12 per day and a total of 532 would mean that somehow visitors show some interest in one or two of my post here and again it is a good start. It would also mean that somehow I have some good post here that caught the interest of my visitors and it is a good start. So I get an idea that I need to have a good quality post in order to have a quality visitors.

Why the difference in the length of visits and the page view?
If I only look at a single page and then leave, Sitemeter don't know how long I looked at the page. If I looked at two pages and left Sitemeter would know I at least am on the site during the time of the first page view and the second page view. The difference between those two times would be the length of the visit.With a 0:45 seconds average per visit would mean that visitors at least take time to view and read at least two pages of my blog and it is acceptable for the moment. An average page view of 1.1 seconds that means visitors are staying and spend 1.1 minutes to at least read a few line of my post that interest them.
As you can see, these statistics will reveal vital information about the effectiveness of individual pages, and visitor habits and motivation. This is essential information to any successful Internet marketing campaign.
And finally it goes down to a single best criteria for increasing your traffic-ALWAYS HAVE A GOOD QUALITY CONTENT FOR YOUR BLOG, without this single thing you may have a lot of traffic but not enough quality and real visitors to your blog. Happy blogging!
